Ths project was designed and implemented in Urmia in 2016 by Architaj.
The project was done on the last floor of a duplex residential house.
It was fulfilled in a way to overlook both floors, and it was located on top of the staircase.
There was an old domelocated already in the place which made it possible for natural lighting and had been already caulked properly.
It lacked any impression and beauty, and it sounded so dull to the owner, so it was the only problem of it.
With the interactions between engineer Jame Bozog and engineer Jabari (the implementer of the project), the final decision was made for the project.
It was concluded to maintain the old dome and build a new one to sustain the stein glass and to construct the new one under the old one.
Urmia Stein Glass Dome
The structure of the building is designed lightly, so the material used for it had an impact on cost reduction.
The material was designed after the cold rolling operation, and it was covered with electrostatic color.
Ms. Toot Zari was the designer of the stein glass, and Arabesque was her style suggestion for the project.
After the finalization of the model, the stein glass process commenced and twelve sashes were installed on the dome.
A full-colored model, with the utilization of the opal glass, carved glass, and also by using multiple colors for the glass, made the product to be looked like a rug made of glass. The natural lightning shone through the glass and exhibited a rug of colors on the ground.
The full-colored domes with traceries usually don’t allow the lighting, so this concerns mostly the decorative aspect of the design, and eventually beautifies the inner view.
