The steps of making a Tiffany glass element
First step: design and numbering of the plan
In the first step, the outline is prepared. Your design can be in various styles of architecture and interior decoration. These styles include geometric, classic and such styles. The design is numbered according to the piece of colored glass that is supposed to be placed in that part.
Second step: cutting the glasses
At this stage, according to the design and pattern that was prepared in the previous stage, the glasses are cut into small pieces.
Third step: copper foil
Copper foil is a very thin sheet of copper that has an adhesive on the back. It is covered by copper foil around each piece of glass.
Fourth step: Assembly
At this stage, pieces of colored glass are arranged next to each other according to the outline to create the outline.
Step 5: Soldering
This stage, which is the final stage, is done by soldering the glass parts with solder, oil-free tin and soldering oil. Soldering in Tiffany stained glass causes the small pieces of glass to stick together and become stronger. After soldering, all the parts are united and become one piece.
Accuracy, time and skill of the artist are very important in carrying out the steps of Tiffany Glass. The quality of Tiffany glass depends on the cut of the glass. The more delicate the steps of making Tiffany glass, the more beautiful and elegant the Tiffany element will be.
The difference between Tiffany and Stain Glass:
In general, the main structure of Tiffany and stained glass is similar. But their difference is in covering the edges of the glass. In Tiffany Glass, tin is used to cover the edge of the glass, and wire is used in Stein Glass.
