Farmaniyeh Cymbal Stain Glass Dome Project

The stained glass dome project of Farmaniyeh is a lenticular shape.

This project was designed and built in 1989 by the Archi Taj specialized group.

The location of this project is a residential building on Sanbal Farmaniyeh Street.

On the ceiling above the main hall, there is a space for building a skylight.

The empty space of the roof in the shape of a circle and 3 meters in diameter is the place where light enters the interior.

With the interactions that took place between Engineer Yeganeh (builder of the building) and Archi Taj, a plan in the shape of a lenticular dome was considered for this space.

The dome is designed with a low height and in the shape of a lens in order to reduce the visibility of the dome in the external architecture of the structure and to reduce the area of ​​the dome.

The design phase of the metal structure (frame) of this project was completed and accordingly, the project entered the implementation phase.

The design of the structure has been done in such a way that the weight of the structure is reduced to a minimum by observing the implementation principles and taking into account the design requirements according to the regulations of steel structures and consequently the construction costs are reduced to a great extent.

For this purpose, corner and shield sections are used in the construction of this structure, which are relatively lighter than the profile.

The design of the stained glass windows for this dome is done in a minimal geometric style.

In it, cut glass, frosted glass, and salty acid glass have been used, which has increased the shine of this structure.

At the client’s request, a place to connect the chandelier to the center of this dome has been seen in the design, which has increased the beauty of the design

In order to seal this design, a chamber was built on top of this structure to prevent the penetration of rainwater into the structure below.

This method is called European method sealing, which has fundamental differences compared to other sealing methods used in other Archi Taj projects.

Each project that is defined in Archi Taj is sealed in a special way based on its specific characteristics and technical principles.
