The construction of the glass dome of the Martyrs’ Memorial was a great honor for the Archi Taj Complex. We created a monument in the Martyrs’ Memorial space with craftsmanship, love, and light. This project provided an opportunity to create a lasting and spiritual work.

Features of the Glass Dome

This beautiful structure was designed and constructed with a span of 14 meters. We used stained glass in red and warm colors. These colors are reminiscent of the blood of the martyrs. We also used calligraphy of the names of the martyrs and Islamic and Iranian architectural motifs in the design. These elements gave the building a religious and spiritual appearance.

Design and Construction of the Structure

The large dimensions of the structure challenged us. We considered 32 beams for the dome. We divided each sector into three sections. In the center of the dome, we placed a circle with a diameter of 1.5 meters. This design is similar to many of our successful projects.

Technical Challenges

The octagonal cross-section of the dome created many challenges. Archi Taj’s engineering and calculation team solved these challenges with precision and expertise. We considered all structural issues. With the approval of the Engineering System Organization, we designed and implemented the structure in the most beautiful way.

Project Location

The Memorial of the Unknown Martyrs of the Niayesh Campus of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences is located in the Vanak neighborhood of Tehran and Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani Highway. This building is one of the two important monuments in the Vanak neighborhood of Tehran. The implementation of this glass dome has given a special look to this holy place.

The implementation of the glass dome of the Martyrs’ Memorial of the Campus demonstrates our commitment to art and engineering. We created a lasting work using stained glass and unique designs. This project is not only aesthetically important, but also technically important. We are proud to have been a part of this sacred monument.
