Mehraz Stain Glass Dome Project

The German dome has a circular cross-section, but the void in this building has a square cross-section, and a frame was needed to convert this square void into the required cross-section for a dome.

The skeleton of the structure is made of steel profile sections, which are bent according to the plan during the cold light process, and then the connections are fully welded and form the main frame.

In the center of this square section, a circle with a diameter of 2.5 meters has been created, which separates the corners of the square from the circular part in the form of a wedge, and the wedges are considered to be flat as shown in the pictures.

It should be mentioned that all the stages of design and implementation have been carried out according to the regulation of design and construction of metal structures and all stages have been approved by the Engineering System Organization.

After complete implementation, the metal frame is completely covered by electrostatic paint that is resistant to sulfation over the years.

The design of the stained glass windows in this structure is done in a classic fantasy style and it uses cut glass, colored glass with turquoise and green tones, and painted glass.

Furnace painted glass, which can be seen in red in the design, is first created as a painting on the glass, then the glass is placed in the furnace and fired at a temperature of 800 degrees. The final glass is a single unit of glass. And the color will remain the same for years.

After making the stained glass laths and installing them on the metal frame, the polymer sheets are installed from the outside of the dome. ) are worn. By performing these steps, the structure will be resistant to water penetration and weather changes will not have any effect on the skylight structure.
