Niavaran Stained Glass Dome

The Niavaran Stained Glass Dome project was implemented in 2015 in collaboration with Archi Taj. This project was commissioned by Mr. Yasser Hashemi Rafsanjani at his home and was installed on the empty space on the top floor of a residential building.

Before the implementation of this dome, there was an old skylight in this space that did not appeal to the owner in terms of aesthetics and had also caused problems such as water leakage for the residents. Archi Taj, by sending various proposals and designs to the client, considered his wishes and approved the final design.

To build the metal skeleton of this structure, profile sections were used, which were designed into the desired shape during the cold rolling process. Then, the structure was covered with electrostatic paint to provide the necessary resistance to atmospheric changes. Archi Taj, by complying with the requirements for the design and implementation of metal structures, succeeded in receiving a seal of approval from the National Engineering System Organization.

Archi Taj designed the stained glass dome in the Iranian style, in accordance with the client’s wishes, and used acid-etched and sandblasted glass, which presents the background of the design in a matte manner. He also used colored glass in the shades of bronze, gold, yellow, and brown.
