- Project Type:: Stained Glass Dome
The skylight and glass dome project in the southern penthouse of Safir Tower in Farmanieh was implemented by Archi Taj Engineering Group with the highest design and construction standards. This project, which included an oval dome and a flat skylight, was completed in continuation of the success of the Farmanieh Sonbol Stained Glass Dome project in 2010.
For one of the halls of this penthouse, an oval stained glass dome measuring 4 meters by 2.80 meters was designed and implemented. The dome is designed in a minimalist geometric style, and the use of frosted and cut glass allows light to beautifully penetrate the interior space.
The challenges of designing the oval dome, which is considered one of the most complex forms in stained glass design, were fully implemented by relying on the expertise and experience of Archi Taj Engineering Team. The metal frame of this structure is made of shield and angle steel sections, which both reduces the overall weight of the structure and optimizes costs. To increase the resistance of the metal frame, electrostatic paint was used to protect the steel against decay and rust.
In another hall of this penthouse, a rectangular flat skylight was implemented, which was in perfect harmony with the design of the oval dome and displayed minimal and geometric elements. This skylight was made of shield and angle steel sections for greater strength, and the stained glass windows were carefully placed in place.
To seal the stained glass dome, a glass chamber was built on the roof of this penthouse using tempered and laminated glass, which prevented rainwater from penetrating the structure.
Archi Taj Engineering Group, with experience and expertise in the field of designing and implementing stained glass projects, carried out this project according to the specific needs of the client and in complete coordination with the interior decoration elements.
