Jaberi Mosque, one of the important Sunni mosques in Bandar Abbas, was selected to host a unique project for the construction and design of stained glass skylights. The project was designed and implemented in 2016 by Archi Taj Engineering and Technical Group, which included two stained glass domes in the nave and a stained glass skylight.

Design and Construction Stages

First, the design and construction of the metal frame of the structures was carried out based on engineering principles and engineering regulations. Steel sections (profiles) were used to build the structures and after approval by the welding supervisor, these sections were fully welded and electrostatically painted to ensure the durability and strength of the structure.

Stained Glass Features

The stained glass slats of this project were designed in a geometric and colorful style and used Islamic elements to create visual beauty and harmony with the religious atmosphere of the mosque. These elements are used with a special continuity, which is prominently displayed in the word “Allah” at the top of the dome.

The process of sealing the structure

The sealing of the structures is one of the most important steps in the construction of stained glass domes. In this project, polymer sheets were used to prevent rainwater from penetrating, and pressure-tight rubbers were installed for the joints. Also, aluminum sections were installed on these rubbers to complete the sealing process.
