The Birjand Stained Glass Dome project was designed and implemented in 2011 by Archi Taj’s specialized team. This dome, with a span of 5 meters and a height of 1.80 meters, was placed on the void of a residential duplex building and provides natural light to both floors. This project was implemented on Moallem Street in Birjand and commissioned by Mr. Abbaszadeh. Engineer Hemmati, the designer and executor, was responsible for implementing the project in collaboration with Archi Taj.
At Archi Taj, we built the skeleton of this structure in accordance with the regulations related to the design and implementation of metal structures. We finalized the steel profiles with cold rolling operations and then coated them with electrostatic paint. The joints were fully welded and the Engineering System Organization issued approval for this structure.
The design of the stained glass windows of this dome was done in a classical style. In the center of the dome, a Victorian flower motif is visible, enhanced by turquoise and bronze borders. We used cut, acid-etched, and frosted glass to both filter incoming light and limit the observer’s view to the outside.
To seal the dome, we used curved and laminated glass to prevent water leakage in addition to creating a beautiful exterior appearance. This type of coating made the dome visually stunning from both angles, both inside and outside.
With its precise and artistic execution, the Birjand Stain Glass Dome project was able to become one of Archi Taj’s outstanding projects and attract the full satisfaction of the client.
