Birjand Stained Glass Dome 2

The Birjand 2 Stained Glass Dome project, designed and implemented in 2017 by Archi Taj Engineering Group, is one of the most prominent stained glass projects in this series. This is the second project commissioned by Engineer Hemmati, after the successful “Birjand 1” project in 2017. This project is installed on the roof of a residential duplex building and provides light to both floors of the building.

We designed the stained glass dome in the classic Victorian style and used classic motifs in its design. At the request of the client, the dome glass was made colorless, using acid-etched, sandblasted, cut, and transparent glass. This design, with its continuity of designs and precise details, in addition to creating a decorative effect, plays a fundamental role in the interior lighting of the building.

We designed and built the metal structure of this dome in accordance with technical and engineering principles and have received the necessary approvals from the National Engineering System Organization. We have created the dome skeleton with steel profiles and have shaped them into the desired shape through a cold rolling process. Then we have reinforced them with electrostatic paint. Also, for sealing, we have used transparent polymer sheets covered with rubber and pressure-resistant aluminum sections.
