Stained Glass Dome Project for a Residential Villa in Kordan

In this project, the Archi Taj team will install a beautiful glass dome with an opening diameter of 8 meters and a height of 1.8 meters on the roof of a residential villa in the Jahan Villa area of Kordan. We considered a low height for the structure so that in addition to reducing the area, the stained glass patterns can be seen more clearly. We performed careful structural calculations to ensure accurate estimates of the applied loads.

We have designed the stained glass patterns in the central and upper lines of the dome in a concentrated manner and placed colored dots in the lower part to create a border design. The central circle has a bright and patterned effect using blue and turquoise colors combined with yellow and red.

We have used opaque glass to cover the perimeter of the dome where the walls are located. We also used acid etched glass in the next layer to make the work area opaque and finally, we installed clear glass for the last line to provide a view of the blue sky of Kurdistan for the residents of this villa.

In September, our team installed the dome structure and in November, after the interior space was ready, we installed the glass. We completed this project in less than 20 days.
