One of the latest projects of Archi Taj Collection is the design and implementation of a stained glass dome for a residential villa in Takestan city, Qazvin province. This dome with a diameter of 3 meters is implemented on the ceiling of the central hall of the villa and has given this building a unique look with its unique design inspired by the neoclassical style. In this project, we use bronze-colored glass, because in addition to being beautiful, it creates a soft and warm light in the interior space.

Design and Inspiration in the Neoclassical Style

The Neoclassical style is one of the most popular styles in luxury architecture that creates a beautiful and balanced space by combining classical and modern principles. In the design of this dome, artistic details and symmetrical patterns have been considered to be in perfect harmony with the overall architectural style of the villa.

The glass patterns used in this dome are a combination of curved lines and delicate geometric shapes that create a luxurious and eye-catching appearance. The use of bronze-colored glass has caused the natural sunlight to create a warm, soft and pleasant feeling when passing through this dome, which gives the interior of the villa a sense of peace and splendor.

Technical and structural specifications of the glass dome

  1. Diameter and dimensions:
This dome has a diameter of 3 meters, which is in perfect proportion with the space of the villa’s central hall and has a wonderful effect on the interior lighting.
  2. Material and type of glass:
In the construction of this dome, bronze-colored stained glass was used, which, in addition to being beautiful, is durable and of high quality. Due to its light filtering properties, these glasses spread a gentle glow in the interior and prevent the creation of harsh and intense lights.
  3. Skeleton and supporting frame:
To support the structure of this dome, a resistant metal frame with electrostatic paint coating has been used. This type of painting increases the skeleton’s resistance to moisture, rust, and temperature changes. It also helps maintain its quality in the long term.
  4. Dome installation and implementation process:
The installation of this dome is as follows:
    • Initial design and structural calculations to match the building’s roof
    • Construction of the metal frame and application of protective coatings
    • Cutting, preparing, and assembling the stained glass panes
    • Final installation and implementation of a professional sealing process to prevent moisture penetration

Benefits of using a stained glass dome

  • Unique beauty and visual effect
In addition to providing natural light, glass domes are used as a decorative element in interior design. This dome, with its neoclassical style, gives a special splendor to the aforementioned villa.
  • Increase natural light and reduce energy consumption
The use of stained glass panes allows natural light to enter the interior space. It also helps reduce the need for artificial lighting during the day, which ultimately reduces electricity consumption.
  • High durability and longevity
This dome is highly durable due to the use of laminated and bent glass and a durable metal frame and is extremely resistant to various weather conditions.
  • Appropriate thermal and acoustic insulation
The use of multilayer glass and professional sealing makes this dome act as a thermal and acoustic insulator and is effective in reducing energy loss.

The Takestan Residential Villa Glass Dome Project is an example of Archi Taj’s successful and precise implementation in the field of designing and implementing skylights and stained glass domes. The combination of neoclassical design, the use of bronze-colored glass, and compliance with technical standards makes this project one of the most prominent examples.
