Jamshidieh glass skylight

The Jamshidieh glass skylight project was designed and implemented in 2016 by Archi Taj Group. This project was carried out on the second floor of a duplex building located in Jamshidieh, Tehran. The main goal of designing and installing this skylight was to increase natural lighting to the interior space and create a beautiful element in the interior decoration.

Skylight Design and Implementation

In the design of this building, a small room with a sloping roof above the skylight has been built to prevent rainwater from penetrating into the skylight. Also, the glass in the room has been designed to fully direct natural light to the interior space.

In collaboration between Engineer Shahabi (project developer) and Zahra Toot Zari (stainless glass designer), a classic design inspired by Victorian flowers was chosen for the skylight.

Using Stained Glass in the Skylight

In this skylight, cut gold glass, frosted glass, and clear glass are used. This combination beautifully displays the glow of light in the interior and allows more light to enter the space.

Installation and Framing

A frame made of angled glass was designed to install the stained glass slats, which is covered with electrostatic paint. This frame plays an important role in maintaining the safety and strength of the glass slats.
