Meygoun Glass Dome

The Meygoun Glass Dome project was designed and implemented by Archi Taj Group in 2018. This project was carried out in a villa apartment complex located in Meygoun Nou. The 9-story building of this complex has a skylight that transmits natural light to all floors. The void (empty space) was designed in the shape of a semi-oval, with a large diameter of 7 meters and a small diameter of 5 meters.

Design and implementation of the glass dome

According to the special shape of the void, the Archi Taj team presented a unique design that was compatible with this space. After that, a glass dome with a diameter of 3 meters and a height of 1.20 meters was installed in the center of the skylight. The flat edges around this dome spread the light beautifully and naturally in the interior.

Implementation of the metal frame

Steel profiles were used to build the dome frame and were coated with electrostatic paint to make it resistant to rust and decay. All connections were fully welded and the necessary tests were carried out on them to ensure the final quality of the structure.

Waterproofing and skylight design

A glass chamber with a sloping roof was installed above the void to prevent water infiltration. Laminated safety glass was used in the walls of the chamber to provide access to the glass dome structure in addition to waterproofing. The glass slats were designed in a realistic style and warm colors such as yellow and orange were used in the dome, and green in the flat sections.
