Design and Implementation of a Modern Skylight for an Office Penthouse – Zafar / Arash Project
In this project, the Architaj team designed and implemented a modern 6×6 meter skylight in the penthouse of an office building on Zafar Street – Arash Boulevard in Tehran. This is part of the company’s management office building, and the client wanted to create a modern, distinctive, and eye-catching architectural element that would both enhance the beauty of the space and bring in the most natural light into the environment.
Architectural Design and Skylight Form
The Architaj design team developed the skylight form as a reclining volume with a unified and beautiful central curvature. This curvature gives the space visual character and dynamism and makes the penthouse feel more modern.
To create this form, we used an engineered triangulation system to increase strength while allowing for the creation of a complex and attractive geometry.
Structural Engineering and Production
During the construction phase, we manufactured all the nodes and structural elements with precise CNC machines and placed a specific code on each piece. This method of coordinating the parts greatly increased the speed of installation and the accuracy of the structure’s execution.
After complete assembly, we put the structure into the oven paint process to make it resistant to moisture and environmental conditions. At the request of the client, we chose the dark gray color to match the modern penthouse space.
Glazing and technical features
In the glazing section, we used Super Clear HS glass. In addition to high resistance, these glasses have excellent transparency and allow natural light into the interior without loss of quality. Choosing this glass allowed the skylight to fully provide natural lighting for the management office.
The Architaj team carried out all stages of the project, including construction, sealing, glass installation, structural assembly and final execution, in a complete and integrated manner.
The final result of the project
The Zafar Project Penthouse Skylight is now a successful example of the combination of creative design, precise engineering, and professional execution. In addition to creating a modern and distinctive architectural effect, this skylight has significantly improved the quality and feel of the management space by maximizing the transmission of natural light.
