Stained Glass Dome in Yazd

Continuing the process of designing and implementing special architectural projects, Archi Taj Specialized Group is proud to introduce one of its most impressive projects. Implementing a stained glass dome as a focal point and a prominent element of the staircase ceiling of a residential villa in Yazd.

Conceptual design and style selection

This project is located in the urban context of Yazd. Yazd is a city with rich historical roots. For this reason, it was decided to use a combination of traditional elements and European classical style in the design of this skylight. The circular form of the dome with regular geometric divisions and complex color patterns, while instilling a sense of balance and symmetry, beautifully passes natural light through the colored glass and transfers it to the interior space.

This glass skylight not only provides natural light in the central space of the staircase, but also plays a role as a work of art in the architectural space. The curved form of the walls and the decorative metal railing of the stairs, combined with colored light passing through the dome, have created a dynamic and different space.

The main goal of the design team was to create an inspiring space using light, color, and form. The use of colored glass in the dome not only adds a light-catching element to the space, but also injects dynamism and life into the environment with changes in light at different times of the day.

In this project, the glass dome is not just a roof covering, but a prominent architectural element that redefines the glass skylight in contemporary design.
