Stained Glass Dome of Ferdows Garden Villa

Archi Taj Group has designed and implemented the Ferdows Garden Villa Stained Glass Dome project as one of the outstanding examples of Iranian motifs in glass domes. This dome is located in Mr. Najafi’s personal villa and at the entrance to the Cinema Museum. The design of this project was carried out by Ms. Tootzari in 2015, and the process of approving the design to implementation took a little while due to the construction processes, until it was installed and delivered in 2016.

Archi Taj’s technical team used Iranian motifs in the production of the stained glass windows of this dome to make the structure look like a handmade carpet with glass. The shine of the cut glass against the light creates an amazing image on the floor of the house. This structure with a span of nearly 6 meters is built in the traditional way (bent and rolled) and has high elegance and strength. Archi Taj’s technical team divided each dome sector into two sections so that the stained glass could be manufactured and installed in the appropriate dimensions.

Stained Glass Dome Sealing:

Stained glass dome sealing is done using bent and laminated glass. This method is used because it creates a resistant structure and prevents water from penetrating into the structure. In addition to being beautiful, bent and laminated glass gives the dome greater strength and durability. Detail This type of seal has advantages and disadvantages compared to other sealing methods in the world today. The advantages of using glass in the dome seal include its strength against the sun and its lack of discoloration over time. However, bent and laminated glass may crack and break when subjected to severe impacts, which makes maintenance necessary in these structures.
