Stained Glass Dome Oxin Amol

The Oxin Stained Glass Dome in the Oxin Commercial Complex located in Amol city is known as the largest and most unique stained glass structure in Iran and the Middle East. This project was completed in the winter of 2018 by Archi Taj Engineering and Construction Company and, with a diameter of 18 meters, is the largest structure on which stained glass windows have been installed. This dome is located in the center of the void of this commercial complex and at the entrance to Amol city, Mazandaran province.

The esteemed employer, Dr. Taheri, together with Engineer Mokhbari Company as the designer and builder, wanted a fast and high-quality construction. The implementation of this dome with an area of nearly 300 square meters was produced in the Archi Taj Stained Glass workshop within a month and transported to the project site.

Structure and Design:

Engineer JamehBozorg, PhD in Structural Engineering, designed and implemented the structure of this glass dome under his supervision. All structural calculations were performed considering the combination of the deck slab roof and concrete. The metal structure section was manufactured and installed by the Archi Taj team using CNC and bending machines in 20 days.

Stained glass design:

Ms. Engineer Tot Zari designed the stained glass windows according to BS regulations. These windows are manufactured and reinforced to maintain their stability over the years.

Sealing features:

The Archi Taj Group uses the most modern techniques and materials to seal large structures. A significant portion of the material for this structure is imported specifically from outside Iran. Refrigeration, sealing, and airtightness issues are of great importance in areas with high humidity.

Performance and beauty:

Composite stained glass structures require precise and specialized calculations to avoid problems. Archi Taj’s technical engineering team, with extensive experience in implementing similar projects, has been able to advance the work well in terms of quality and speed.

Beauty and Lighting:

The stained glass construction of the Oxin Dome project was carried out with great precision and speed at Archi Taj’s workshop. The glass design using colored and cut glass along with a background of frosted glass created a stunning beauty in the interior space. The installation and sealing of the glass was done within 15 days by Archi Taj’s professional team.

Glass dome on the building façade:

Stained glass domes contribute to the beauty and expressiveness of the exterior of buildings and are considered one of the beauty and distinctive features of this space in buildings where the roof is used as a roof garden. With the glow of daylight, the sparkle of the glass beautifies the interior and exterior. During the night, with interior lighting, the dome will shine as a huge chandelier.
