New Stained Glass Skylight Project at Shahid Madani Base

Archi Taj Group is proud to design and implement a new stained glass skylight project at Shahid Madani Base. This project is located in the void of the VIP building and is used as a place to receive special guests.

This skylight is designed with an oval cross-section measuring 24 meters by 18 meters and is considered one of the largest skylights made with stained glass in Iran.

In cooperation with Engineer Jameh Bozorg and senior managers of the base, and after conducting phase zero studies, it was decided to implement a horseshoe-shaped structure on the skylight and place a false stained glass structure under this roof.

Based on the architectural and structural plans of this building and the architect’s opinion, Archi Taj’s technical team designed composite structures. We use CNC sheets combined with stained glass in a combined punch to properly implement the visual design desired by the client.

Construction of the roof skylight frame

After the structural frame was designed in engineering software and approved by the structural engineer, production began at the Archi Taj factory. Then, the rolled sections were transported to the project site and the assembly of the structure began. Archi Taj’s executive and welding teams, under the supervision of the supervising engineer, installed all the sections and erected the structure.

Engineer Tot Zari was responsible for designing the stained glass windows. The designs were approved according to the executive drawings and the necessary coordination for installation was made so that all the forms could be placed together correctly.

We use colored and opaque glass to make the stained glass so that the designs are clearly visible at a height of 15 meters. The construction of the stained glass for this project, which is about 150 square meters, is carried out entirely in Archi Taj’s dedicated workshop and is assembled by glass artists.

In addition, the waterproofing of the structure, which is one of the most important issues in composite projects, was carried out according to the current European method and BS regulations to prevent problems from occurring over time.
