In the summer of 96, the Gom Stein Glass dome Project was assigned to the expert group of ArchiTaj.
The building of this project belonged to an Islamic preachment office to one of the religious authorities, and it was considered to dedicate a hall on the last floor for the conferences and the meetings of this project.
For the lighting, a blank space circle-shaped to the diameter of 5.20 meters was considered as a design for the last floor ceiling.
The domes, which are related to the office atmospheres, posses certain design features and Architaj group has been always considering special requirements for the structures with this sort of practicability.
This dome is one meter high and due to its low height, its overall form resembles a lens. This doesn’t concern the external view much, however, the internal view is more important.
These dome designs have long histories behind them and almost resemble the Colonbo vault in traditional architecture. (You can get more information about this kind of dome on Wikipedia.)
The design of stein glass resulted from the interaction between the Architaj group and engineer Azizi, the constructor of the building. The “modern geometric” design was considered for this construction, which has a proportion with the overall architecture and practicability.
The rampart of this construction is made of iron (profile) and its process and the inner structure is overlooked and designed according to the regulation of iron-made construction, and it is confirmed by the engineering organization.
The stain glass of the sash is made of double-gazed polycarbonate which in many years maintains the quality against climate changes, and it is regarded as an efficient cover for caulking in the world.
The tubes which are installed under pressure in the used area are utilized at the intervals between the polycarbonate sheets, and on these tubes, a slight material from Aluminum (convex) is used to maintain the caulking of the construction.
All designs implemented by the Architaj expert group have a lifetime warranty and also 15-year insurance.
